The coffee and art worlds often collide. For our first limited edition release, we did an exceptional collaboration to support a good cause with Los Angeles-based artist WRDSMTH and the non-profit organization One Tree Planted. There are 93 bags in this limited release. Each bag is numbered and signed by the artist, and filled with our organic and fair trade certified daily grind blend. We always partner with One Tree Planted to plant 1 tree for every bag sold, but for this project we are planting 5 trees for every bag sold. The non-profit will direct the funds raised towards their reforestation efforts in California for areas that were affected by the 2018 fires.
The art on the bag, ‘The Daily Grind,’ is a piece by WRDSMTH, which he has only painted in two locations - one on the front of our shop in downtown Los Angeles and one in Chicago.
The 10 oz bags are filled with our daily grind blend, a South American medium roast with a nutty finish that makes a perfect daily brew.
Earth Bean Coffee is proud to partner with One Tree Planted, a 501c3 non-profit that is reforesting our planet one order at a time.
Earth Bean Coffee was started by my partner David & myself, Joan, in the summer of 2016. When we first started dating we discovered our shared preference for organic products. On every date, we would seek out organic restaurants and cafes around Los Angeles. We felt lucky to live in a city with so many options. Besides the obvious health reasons for eating organic, it just tastes better!
Overtime we became aware of a list called "The Dirty Dozen" - the most commonly and highly contaminated foods with pesticides and chemicals. The Dirty Dozen list is compiled from extensive independent tests run by the FDA and the USDA from more than 100,000 food samples. As coffee lovers, we were disappointed to learn that coffee is on this list. We started to seek out organic coffee shops and roasters and were left with only a few options. This is when Earth Bean Coffee was born out of love - a love for organic products & a love for their positive impacts.
