Smoothies make the perfect healthy breakfast. They’re easy to make, refreshing and super nutritious — and they’re even better when they’re buzzed with a healthy splash of caffeine.
This cold brew-infused smoothie recipe is packed with both healthy and satitating ingredients, like peanut butter, organic house-made almond mylk and cacao. We love it not only because it tastes great, but also because it gives us a serious energy boost for starting the day off right.
The recipe below yields one serving. If you need to make more than one, just multiply the ingredients by the number of servings you’d like. The total cost per serving using our suggested ingredients is $4.38.
From here, all that’s left to do is blend all of the ingredients together in a blender for about 1 minute until smooth and serve immediately. It’s delicious as is, or you can take it a step further and make it a bowl, topping the smoothie with organic granola, organic cacao nibs, organic hemp seeds and any sliced fruit you like. Voilà — you’re ready to take on the day.
We understand that in light of the COVID-19 crisis it might be hard to make it to the store. That’s why we’ve started to offer pantry items, including almost all of the ingredients in this recipe, at our DTLA café. We’re facing strange and unprecedented times, but despite all the scary uncertainties, we're committed to serving our community the best way we know how. Our pantry items, like organic peanut butter, plant-based mylks, organic rolled oats and gluten-free pasta are available for curbside pickup or delivery across L.A. (free delivery with a $25 minimum purchase). To support our local community and the economy, we source all of these products from small businesses.
Now more than ever, it’s important to avoid crowded areas, including grocery stores, to curb the spread of COVID-19. We hope to make it possible for our customers to stay healthy and avoid making trips to the store during these challenging times. It’s always true, but especially now: life happens, but coffee helps!
